The 10-Day Okavango Lodge Safari is suitable for the whole family. This safari will focus on one of the largest inland deltas in the world. The Okavango Delta is a unique biosphere based in a semi-desert Kalahari basin. The Okavango Panhandle is our destination.
Our safari will allow us to explore the main channel of the Okavango River by motorised riverboat. The main channel has a series of papyrus islands. These papyrus islands start forming the Okavango Delta. A large variety of wildlife lives along these waterways.
Few experiences can compare to a boat trip on the Okavango River. The meandering Okavango River cuts through papyrus and reed islands, forming a snake-like pattern. Islands form the breeding ground and lifeline for wildlife. Okavango Lodge safari will educate us on the sensitive biosphere of the Okavango.
We will explore the coexistence of local culture and wildlife within a wilderness. A part of our safari will take us back to the ancient Khoisan cultures. Tsodilo Hills is well known for being the largest and most natural museum to host the past's rock art galleries. This journey is an excellent opportunity to understand the magic of the Okavango River. We will visit all the waterways that feed the Okavango Delta. These natural areas are pristine wilderness areas.
Our 10 Day Okavango Lodge safari will start in Maun and end in Victoria Falls. Our route is along the western part of the Okavango River. We meander through the Caprivi or Zambezi Region and back to Chobe in Botswana.
The Kwando and Chobe rivers both contribute to the Okavango River. Along these waterways are some of the best wildlife in Southern Africa. Our ten-day Okavango Lodge safari combines nature and wildlife with culture.
The Okavango River is home to some of Africa's most exotic bird species. The waterways are the perfect habitat for raptors, insect eaters, and water birds. Changing seasons bring a large amount of migrating birds to this area. One of the most sought-after birds is the Pel's Fishing Owl.
The Okavango Lodge Safari is the perfect low-impact Safari in Botswana and Namibia. The safari is a lodge safari that focuses on Wildlife, Birdlife and the waterways that feed the Okavango Delta. The route is perfect for travellers with a limited time frame and enjoys a comfortable level when travelling.
